Safe zones for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts

On a 1080 × 1920 frame, keep key content out of the top 240 px, the bottom 660 px and 120 px on the sides on TikTok; the top 269 px, the bottom 672 px and 65 px on the sides on Instagram Reels; and the top 288 px, the bottom 672 px, 48 px on the left and 192 px on the right on YouTube Shorts, plus the button columns on the right. For one video on all three, the area that is safe everywhere is 660 × 960 px, starting 120 px from the left and 288 px from the top.

Numbers checked against the platforms’ own documents on October 24, 2026

Check one video for all three

Each app draws its own buttons, captions and ad labels over vertical video. The numbers here come from each platform’s own documents; the checker puts them over your footage. Pick a platform or “All three”, then drop a video or a frame.

Your file stays on your device: nothing is uploaded.

Platform

All three: every area that TikTok, Reels or Shorts covers in ads. Content in the clear area is safe on each of them.

Placement
Show

Interface shapes are schematic: they show where the app’s buttons and text sit, not how they look. Red areas are the platform’s unsafe zones.

Turn on JavaScript to check your own video. The template above and the numbers below work without it.

One video for all three platforms

Take the widest margin on each edge: 288 px at the top, 672 px at the bottom, 120 px on the left and 192 px on the right, plus the widest button column, 300 × 1080 px from y = 840.

That leaves 660 × 960 px that is clear on every platform: x from 120 to 780, y from 288 to 1248. Put the product, the price and subtitles there, and the same video can go anywhere.

Why the safe zones differ

TikTok publishes its safe zone as template files for a 720 × 1280 px frame, with separate files for ads with a product link and for Arabic. Meta gives percentages. Google gives pixels on a 1080 × 1920 frame.

None of them publishes numbers for organic posts. Their apps draw the same buttons and text in the same places on organic videos, without the ad label and button, so the ad zones are the safe choice for both.

Interfaces shift with app versions and screen sizes. The platforms’ numbers already include room for that: keep key content inside the zone, not right on its line.

Questions

Which platform covers the most of the frame?

At the bottom: Reels 672 px, Shorts 672 px, TikTok 660 px. At the top: Shorts 288 px, Reels 269 px, TikTok 240 px. On the right: TikTok has a 300 × 1080 px button column, Reels 227 × 768 px, and Shorts keeps 192 px clear along the whole edge.

Can I use one template for TikTok, Reels and Shorts?

Yes, if key content stays inside the area that is safe on all three: 660 × 960 px, starting 120 px from the left and 288 px from the top. Pick “All three” in the checker or download the combined template.

Are these safe zone numbers official?

Yes, for ads: TikTok’s template files, Meta’s Ads Guide and Help Center, and Google Ads Help, all checked on October 24, 2026. No platform publishes numbers for organic posts; we apply the ad zones and say so on each page.

Do the numbers work at other 9:16 resolutions?

Yes. The zones are proportional: use the percentages, or scale the pixels by your frame width divided by 1080.

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. The checker runs in your browser: the file opens on your device and is never sent to Quelta or anyone else.

Videos for your catalog, starting with one category

Tell us about your catalog, markets and volumes. We make the first videos for one category, so you can compare them with what you have now. Then the same scenarios cover the whole catalog.

  1. Send your products

A product feed, links to product pages or photos for one category.

  2. Agree markets and audiences

Countries, languages, platforms, generations of buyers and the quality threshold.

  3. Get the pilot videos

Localized for each market, checked and ready to post.

  4. Scale to the catalog

Every product, every market and every new arrival, in one style.

We don’t copy other people’s videos. Every video is new and about your product. We keep the mechanics that sell (script, pacing, delivery), not anyone’s footage, people or music.
