What Mercado Libre doesn’t allow in a video
- No prices, promotions, discounts or purchase conditions.[4]
- No links, URLs or pointers to other sites or your social networks.[4]
- No personal data.[4]
- No advertising videos, ads or commercials.[4]
- No contests, raffles or giveaways.[4]
- No political references.[4]
- If AI was used to make the video, say so with a caption such as “Generado con intervención de IA”.[4]
- If a brand sponsors the video, disclose it, for example with #ContenidoPatrocinado.[4]
- Everything you show must be for sale on Mercado Libre in that country.[4]
- Each clip is linked to one specific product.[5]
- No third-party content, music included, unless you have the rights.[4]
- Argentina: minors may appear only with express permission from their parents or guardians.[4]
- Brazil: minors may not appear at all.[6]
How to upload a video to Mercado Libre
- Open the main Mercado Libre menu and choose Videos.[7]
- On a computer: choose the file and paste the link to the active listing it belongs to.[8]
- Or add it while publishing or editing a listing, in the Videos section. One listing can have several videos.[7]
- It’s also under Marketing → Central de marketing.[7]
- For products with variants: turn on Mostrar el video en todas las variantes, or upload a video per variant.[9]
- Creating a video with AI works only in the Mercado Libre app on a phone.[2]
- YouTube links in listings were switched off; use Clips instead.[10]
Common reasons for rejection
- Review takes up to 2 business days.[11]
- Status Rechazado: the video breaks a requirement. Mercado Libre shows which one; fix it and upload again.[11]
- Status Pausado: the video is hidden because the listing is inactive, out of stock or paused.[11]
- Mercado Libre may reject or remove videos at any time without giving a reason.[3]

What format, size and resolution does Mercado Libre need for Clips?

Can I make Mercado Libre clips with AI?
Yes. The Mercado Libre app has its own AI flow on the phone, and any AI-made video needs a caption such as “Generado con intervención de IA”. Prices and promotions are not allowed in the video either way.
Why was my Mercado Libre clip rejected?
The status Rechazado means the video breaks one of the requirements, and Mercado Libre shows which one. The most common are prices or promotions in the video, links or social media handles, and music you don’t have the rights to. Mercado Libre may also reject a video without giving a reason.
Can I still add a YouTube video to a Mercado Libre listing?
No. Mercado Libre switched off YouTube videos in listings and points sellers to Clips instead.
