TikTok Shop video requirements
A TikTok Shop product video can be MP4, MOV, MKV or AVI, up to 100 MB, with an aspect ratio between 9:16 and 16:9; TikTok recommends 20 s–1 min, 1:1 and 720 px or more on the short side. Shoppable videos in the feed have no published file limits but strict content rules, and videos made with AI must be labeled. Shop Ads take videos of up to 500 MB and 10 min.

TikTok Shop video requirements
Product videos sit on the product page and are uploaded in Seller Center. Shoppable videos are regular TikTok posts with a product link. Shop Ads (GMV Max) use posts and uploaded videos under the in-feed ad specs.

Rules for TikTok Shop videos
Product video
- A listing can have only 1 video.[3]
- The video must show the product as the customer will receive it.[3]
- TikTok recommends showing 1 or 2 selling points.[1]
- No content that infringes intellectual property or personal rights, and no misrepresenting the product.[3]
- AI must not change the product’s size, color, material, quantity, bundle contents or features.[4]
- In the EU, videos aren’t translated automatically: upload a localized version for each language yourself.[5]
Shoppable video
- A shoppable video is a video plus a product link to the product page.[9]
- At least 3 seconds of dynamic footage, with no still images or loops.[10]
- Promotion that relies mainly on still images, slideshows or screen recordings isn’t allowed.[10]
- Show your face and the physical product.[10]
- No videos where nobody speaks, appears or demonstrates the product.[11]
- No links or calls to action that send viewers away from TikTok Shop.[11]
- No phone numbers, social media handles or email addresses.[11]
- No QR codes.[11]
- No content with another platform’s watermark, sticker or logo.[12]
- No false, unavailable or expired prices or discounts.[11]
- AI-made videos are allowed, but must be labeled: an on-screen label or the AI-generated content setting.[4]
- AI must not replace or fake the product itself: show the real product accurately.[4]
- No fake 3D or rotation made from a flat product photo, and no unrealistic animation of a static product.[4]
Shop Ads video
- GMV Max is now the only campaign type for TikTok Shop Ads.[16]
- GMV Max uses posts with a product anchor link: post your videos with one so they can run as ads.[17]
- Ad captions can’t have clickable links, @ mentions or hashtags.[15]
- Keep text out of the area covered by the app’s buttons and the product anchor.[15]
- Affiliate videos used in GMV Max get a commercial content label; in the EU and the UK it’s added automatically.[18]
How to upload a video to TikTok Shop
Product video
- In Seller Center, open Products → Add Products and create or edit the product.[1]
- Add the video in the Product details section of the listing form.[1]
- Or upload it to the Media Center first and pick it in the Video section of the listing.[6]
- Before you submit, Seller Center lists Critical Issues that must be fixed first.[1]
- The video appears last in the image carousel at the top of the product page.[7]
- Through the API: upload the file, keep the file ID from the response and pass it when creating or editing the product.[2]
Shoppable video
- In the TikTok app, upload the video and tap Next.[13]
- Tap + Add link → Product and pick the product.[13]
- To check it first, open the LIVE & Video tab in Seller Center or the Seller app and run a Quality check.[13]
- In Seller Center the Pre-check is under Content hub → Management → Quality check → Upload.[14]
- If the check finds no issues, publish the video to TikTok from there.[14]

Questions
What are the TikTok Shop product video requirements?
MP4, MOV, MKV or AVI, up to 100 MB, with an aspect ratio between 9:16 and 16:9. TikTok recommends 20 s–1 min, 1:1 and at least 720 px on the short side. One listing can have one video.
What size should a TikTok Shop video be?
Up to 100 MB for a product video and 500 MB for an uploaded ad. TikTok Shop’s product listing policy still names a much smaller cap, while the listing guide and the API give 100 MB; if an upload fails, compress the file.
What is the TikTok Shop video Pre-check?
A Seller Center tool that checks a shoppable video before you post it: unoriginal content, irrelevant promotion and still frames, and it compares the video with TikTok’s recommended standards such as resolution. Find it under Content hub → Management → Quality check. A pass is a guide, not a guarantee.
Can I use AI-generated videos on TikTok Shop?
Yes, if you label them and they show the real product accurately. TikTok doesn’t allow AI that changes the product’s size, color or features, fake 3D rotations of flat product photos, or AI impersonation and fake experts. AI dubbing, subtitles and translation are allowed.
Do shoppable videos have to be vertical?
TikTok Shop doesn’t publish an aspect ratio for shoppable videos: they’re regular TikTok posts. For ads, TikTok recommends 9:16 and accepts 9:16, 16:9 or 1:1. Product videos on the product page accept anything between 9:16 and 16:9.
Why was my TikTok Shop video rejected?
For a product video, the usual reasons are an aspect ratio outside the accepted range, a file over the size limit or a format that can’t be processed. Shoppable videos are removed or restricted mostly for still images and slideshows, links or contact details, another platform’s watermark, and unlabeled or misleading AI.
